Well February came and went :) and we are halfway into March before I can do a recap! I dont think I have ever had such a busy February! This time of year is may time to fine-tune business practices, go to conferences and plan out my year. While I am still doing all of these things this month, I have added a million photoshoots!
Ok maybe a million is a little dramatic ( what me??) but seriously, its been a fun month!
Feb 1st Kylie and I Finally took the Angel wings out to play (read more about that here) and then hosted a series of mini sessions the following week. I am absolute in love with these wings and cant wait to play with them more.
Next up we partnered with Paradise Ridge Winery for the 1st time to host some mini sessions in the Love Meadow. It was a fun weekend of families and couples, in an iconic Sonoma County landmark! I hope to make this a tradition.
PPWC - Professional Photographers of Wine Country is a local chapter of the PPA Professional Photographers of America. You will hear me talK about then ALOT! Joining the professional group was the biggest, best business decision I ever made. I plan to do a recap with more on them (Here)
This month was an image competition. I entered the following 2 images:
Both scored over 80 (yay!!!) and I've misplaced my notes but From what I remember the critics were hands and composition on the Angel, and the background on the lemon photo is to bright.
I love these competitions, I learn something every time.
This months cover story for Sebastopol Living Magazine in February was Jade Turgel and Family! Jade is a fellow photographer and also co owner and creator, with her daughter Zohar of a new skincare product called Izani. You can find out more about it (here). It is always such a treat to learn about people from my community but even better to meet someone with similar interest.
Did you guys celebrate Valentines Day? My celebration looked a little different this year, it started with picking up flowers from my favorite wholesale house (point west flowers) and then delivering them and candy to our family. I love that we get to live so close to so much family, I think if the last 2 years has taught us anything it is to really value our time together.
The evening ended with a quiet night at home. We spent the weekend before wine tasting at a few of our favorites and then the weekend after out with friends and hiking.
Avery built a lemonade stand for me. He built it out of old boxes that my grandmother used for years at the Farmers Market. I was really happy with how it turned out, and even happier to re purpose something that would otherwise just rot away. Looking at the boxes made me wonder how many times her hands touched those boxes and reminded me of how hard she worked.
Look at how cute these little mini sessions turned out! I cant wait to use the stand for other themes as well!

The pink tress bloomed! These come and go so fast, I'll be ready next year ;) Makenzie came out in her fabulous pink prom dress and combined with our perfect weather made for a fun afternoon.
And the Mustard Flowers bloomed! These are always a hit! I have had the pleasure of photographing this family a few times in the last couple of years and just love getting to watch them grow!
I ended the Month in VEGAS! At WPPI, one of my favorite learning experiences every year! Stay tuned for a recap in March's update!
