Love was changing the mind of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away
Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing
As we danced in the night
Remember
How the stars stole the night away, oh yeah Hey, hey, hey
Ba-dee-ya, say, do you remember?
Ba-dee-ya, dancing in September
Ba-dee-ya, never was a cloudy day
Did you sing it?
Do you know the song?
No song has ever been played more then this song on Wedding dance floors around the country! And it never gets old, its always a song that gets multi generations on the floor!
Oh September! Such a time of change, for me this year its the end of a crazy busy wedding season. Only 1 more left. I loved every minute of it, and cant wait to finally share some it. But here today I want share what Ive been up to this month. I have been very good at living in the moment, but not very good at sharing it :)
I have a new personal goal to blog..... Ive made this goal a few times...... eventually its going to stick right? Does anyone really want to hear what I'm up to? I feel like the only person on the planet that will look forward to these is my Mother!
In work related news, I have finally switched my website over to a new platform!!! This has been years in the works! And while it might not sound that impressive, I am over the moon excited! I cant wait to start sharing all of the new features with my Family Portrait clients this fall! My favorite feature, clients can see their images in products that they may be interested in purchasing. As a consumer I LOVE this, it really helps to make decisions. You can check it all out here and here.
Some other fun work things........
Shooting out of the roof of my car, shooting at the bar, building a detail flat lay box for weddings and a fun Senior shoot.
This month definitely slowed down for weddings. Which meant I finally got to go out of town to visit our friends in Nevada, we've had to reschedule this trip at least 2x, it was such a great reboot for Kerr and I to spend some time together. And to spend some time with some of our favorite people. They might kill me for posting this! But guys this wasn't even my idea! Thats how amazing these friends are :)
The following weekend I got to join that gorgeous blond (above from my website) and her mama to San Diego to get her all moved into her dorms. We road tripped down and spent some days at the beach and in the sunshine! Enjoyed some restaurants and my new favorite tasting room, the CUTWATER headquarters! Check out those colorful drinks below. Also felt like a toddler on my beach blanket enjoying my Hawaiian style snow cone. :) Im so excited for our lil Kels and cant wait to go back! OH and did I mention we had the most amazing tacos!
Andrea and I road tripped it back just in time for a lighting workshop. PPWC (professional Photographers of Wine Country) hosted a very educational workshop by the incredibly talented Tim Myer. Member and friend Brady Thomas offered up her AMAZING studio for us to spend the day. I was almost too distracted by all of my creative thoughts in this space to remember what we were learning. Huge thank you to our models! We spent 8 hours learning how to light them correctly and how to adjust the ratios between lights to get our desired look. Tim is always a wealth of knowledge and I always look forward to his classes.
On the home front our nephew Josh, who is living with us had a big birthday! He turned 16, his mom sister, auntie and cousin all flew up for the occasion. It was a fun weekend seeing everyone.
We finally pressed some of our apples and got a few jugs of cider. Kerr did a bigger production with a friend and they are making hard cider.
Speaking of Mr Handsome we got to go on a few dates, check out the pic below when he couldn't find his wedding ring :) One them was a work play afternoon out at our favorite Sophies Cellars owned by our good friend Alice.
What better way to wrap up the month than with a trip to Korbel. Auntie Linda is a member, and somehow Ive become her honorary partner in crime. I love our trips out to the tasting room, not only do we get to have my favorite, bubbles! But we also have lunch in their deli. I love being able to take time out for these trips, I look forward to spending that time with her. This time neighbor Peggy joined us, I hope we didn't scare her away with our large purchases :)
All in all September was a little bit of a whirlwind. I laugh every time I say something like this, because I guess this is just the way my life is! Maybe someday things will slow down, but do I really want them too?
