I had the great pleasure of photographing my gorgeous cousin and her sweet little family at Jack London State park in Glenn Ellen, Ca.
Busy little 1 year old Araya was the star of the show! Sometimes I forget how active a toddler can be, trying to keep one step ahead of him was a fun little challenge! But as long as we keep moving he was the happiest sweetest little guy!
And then there was Halib! I'm still getting to know him, so far I love the way he loves Katie. His admiration is obvious. They make such a beautiful couple, and beautiful children. I cant wait for more!! ( now I sound like my Aunt, her mom :)
I love being able to capture these moments for my loved ones! Funny I was feeling super nostalgic, cousin Katie being born was one of my earliest memories. At the time she was born our fathers would take us older kids hiking at Jack London every Sunday after church! Their family lived just down the street in Glen Ellen. Such sweet early memories of all the fun us cousins had through out the years. Now I get to witness her baby growing up with his cousins creating similar core moments! This was the perfect location for her family photos.
The day got even more special when Katie reminded it me that it was the anniversary of our grandmothers passing. We truly celebrate what an amazing life she lived! I think it's the 1st time that I forgot the date. Its been 8 years since we lost the matriarch of the family and its so heart warming to me, that when we remember her, all you can do is smile! She was so special and left such an amazing legacy!
Earlier in the year I bumped into to Katie when I was photographing a wedding and she was a guest! I just happened to be standing next to her when the DJ played Georgia on my mind. We both heard it and looked at each other, Georgia, our grandmothers name. We both started bawling, uncontrollable tears. I usual tear up at a wedding but this was hard to hide behind my camera.
I don't think it a coincidence that we keep having these special little incidences. Family connections are special and I cherish them more and more every year.
xoxo
